About Me
My name is Kaitlyn Landi and I’ve worked in special education classroom and also provided special education services in general education settings for 20+ years primarily with students in grades k-8. I have experience working with students ages 4-21 years old. I taught middle school math in Boston Public Schools for 13 years as well as some English, I'm trained in Orton Gillingham and trained as a BCBA. I've tutored students 1:1 for grades k-8 in all subjects including reading (Orton Gillingham), ISEE test preparation, and executive functioning. I received my BA in special education from Clemson University, my M.Ed from UMass Boston in special education, a graduate certificate in behavior analysis from UMass Boston and passed the certification exam to become a board certified behavior analyst. I've tutored high school students in executive functioning, writing and English. I've worked with students who have various disabilities, including dyslexia and other language based disabilities, emotional/behavioral disabilities, intellectual disabilities and physical disabilities. I have attended special education meetings as an advocate and have been interpreting educational testing for the last 10 years. I am currently working in a district outside of Boston as reading, math and executive functioning tutor. During the past 20 years I've encountered numerous parents, some of them being friends and family, who do not understand their child's IEP and educational evaluations so I started working with them to help them understand the IEPs, evaluations and independent evaluations. Throughout the last 2-3 years, I've been interpreting educational evaluations and IEPs around 3-4 times a month and have decided to start doing it professionally.
